SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Wentworth men's hockey team skated to a 6-2 victory over Western New England College in an ECAC Northeast battle Saturday night (Nov. 21) at Smead Arena.
Senior forward Jeff
Olitch (Calgary, AB) led the Leopards with two goals while
sophomore forward Casey Schade (Anchorage, AK) had a goal
and two assists.
Freshman goalie Michael
Jarboe (Grosse Pointe Park, MI) compiled 32 saves.
Trailing 2-0, Western New England College sophomore
forward Mike Kaselouskas (East Longmeadow, MA) scored on
a power play goal with 14:55 left in the opening period.
Wentworth tallied three goals in the middle period with Olitch
notching his first goal at 17:05 to give the visitors a 5-1
advantage.
Sophomore forward Rory Hansen (Noblesville, IN) scored at
8:05 in the third period on a power play to keep the Golden Bears
in the game before Olitch completed the scoring just 32 seconds
later after converting on another power play opportunity.
Junior goalie Justin Richards (Somers, CT) finished with
26 saves.
The Leopards remain unbeaten with a 5-0-1 record, including a 3-0
mark in the league.
The Golden Bears fall to 0-5-1 and 0-2 in the ECAC Northeast.
