Women's Lacrosse Battles Emmanuel

BOSTON, Mass. – Five student-athletes recorded multi-goal games for the Emmanuel Saints women's lacrosse team (5-0) as the hosts topped the Wentworth Institute of Technology (0-4) by an 18-3 score in non-conference action Monday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After the Saints scored the initial six goals of the contest, with two off the stick of freshman Broghan Laundry (Swampscott, Mass.), freshman Maddie Feetham (East Bridgewater, Mass.) got the Leopards on the board with her first collegiate goal at the :52 mark.
  • Emmanuel scored five-straight to begin the second quarter before a goal by sophomore Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie (Laconia, N.H.) brought the score to 11-2 at the halfway point.
  • After the hosts scored four goals in the third quarter, with two from sophomore Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.), senior Helen Hamblett (East Boothbay, Maine) found the twine at the 5:34 mark of the fourth quarter between two goals for the Saints. A Laundry tally following ended the game at a 18-3 score.
  • Hamblett notched a game-high three caused turnovers while senior McKenzie Matz (Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded a team-high three ground balls.


NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Leopards owned the advantage in ground balls, 19-18, and went a perfect 3-3 on free position shots.
