BEVERLY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team wrapped up its 2021 campaign with a 10-3 loss to Endicott.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Endicott took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on a two-run home run and added seven more runs in the third, using a two-runs home run, a bases loaded walk, and a grand slam.
  • Wentworth got on the board in the top of the sixth as senior Aidan French (Chicago, Ill.) hit a one-out double, and moved to third on a groundout by graduate student Dillon Koster (Woburn, Mass.). French scored on an RBI single from junior Kyle Desjardins (North Granby, Conn.)
  • After the Gulls scored a run when a double play was turned in the eighth, the Leopards put two up in the top of the ninth. Sophomore Aaron Lundgren (Portsmouth, N.H.) drew a one-out walk and scored when junior Nolan McManus (Milton, Mass.) hit a two-run home run to left.
  • McManus paced the Leopard offense by going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

ALL-TIME SERIES:

  • Today marked the 51st all-time meeting between the two programs, Endicott leads, 42-9.

  • Wentworth ends its season with a 6-11 record.
