French, Peruzzi Earn All-CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Two Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball student-athletes have been honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference as they were named to the 2021 Commonwealth Coast Conference Baseball All-Conference teams when the league announced its major award winners and all-conference teams on Wednesday afternoon. Senior second baseman Aidan French (Chicago, Ill.) and freshman outfielder Christian Peruzzi (Plymouth, Mass.) were each named to the third team.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the nine CCC head baseball coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

French earns All-CCC honors for the second time in his career, having been named to the third team in 2019. This season he batted .281 with five doubles, one triple, one home run, 12 runs scored, eight runs batted in, and three stolen bases while also posting an on-base percentage of .406 and a slugging percentage of .456. He led the team in doubles and runs scored and was tied for the team lead in triples and home runs. On April 17, he became the 23rd Wentworth baseball student-athlete to eclipse the career 100-hit mark. For his career he has started all 89 games in which he has played, batting .337 (104-for-309) with 19 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 32 stolen bases (in 36 attempts), 72 runs scored, and 42 runs batted in and has a career on-base percentage of .428 and a career slugging percentage of .450. His career batting average ranks him fourth all-time in program history while he ranks fifth in on-base percentage and stolen bases.

Peruzzi started all 13 games in which he played, batting .255 with four doubles and team-high nine runs batted in. He had four multiple-hit games, including when he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBI in a 7-3 win over Gordon on April 3. Peruzzi also drove in two runs in a 4-3 loss at Endicott on March 27 and in a 11-3 win over Gordon on April 2.
