Kerr Named CCC Co-Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore forward Kendra Kerr (Marshfield, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's basketball team has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 8.

Despite an 0-2 week for the Leopards, Kerr had a pair of solid games for the Black & Gold as she averaged 16.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. In a 72-39 loss to 23rd-ranked Colby on January 4, Kerr scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and had a pair of steals. She followed that up with a career-high 23 rebounds to go along with 18 points, two assists, and a pair of steals in a 59-56 loss to conference foe Nichols. In that game Wentworth battled back from a 16-point deficit with 12:39 remaining and fell just short of sending the game into overtime.

Kerr has started all 10 of Wentworth's games and is averaging 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. The Leopards host Western New England tonight (January 10).
