BOSTON, Mass. – After posting its winningest season in program history, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team landed three players on the Commonwealth Coast All-Conference (CCC) Teams as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.
Junior Brooke Paradis (Pelham, N.H.) was named to the Second Team, while freshman Emily Rogers (Pembroke, Mass.) and senior Courtney McCormick (Hanson, Mass.) earned a spot on the Third Team.
Paradis, who earns All-CCC honors for the second straight season, ranked third among conference opponents in goals and points with 62 and 84, respectively, and ranked fifth in assists with 22. Paradis rewrote several notes in the Wentworth women's lacrosse record book, setting the mark for most goals in a game with eight in three different games this season. The junior midfielder became the program's all-time points leader - after setting the all-time goals record last season - on March 17 in the Leopards' first win of the season against Emmanuel. Paradis found the back of the net for the 100th time on her fourth goal of the game against the Saints – the only player in program history to reach the milestone – and became the all-time points leader on her sixth tally of the game to break the previous mark of 118 points set by Pam Mudge in 2016. Paradis, who will enter her senior season next spring, now holds the all-time goals record with 153, and all-time points record with 191. Paradis was also a force in the circle for the Leopards, collecting 79 draw controls.
Rogers and McCormick each earn their first All-Conference honor after the Leopards' standout season, as Rogers followed Paradis' lead with 46 goals and nine assists for 55 points. Rogers started all 16 games for the Leopards in her rookie season, and tallied a hat trick in 10 of those starts, including 13 combined goals over her final three games. Rogers added a season-high seven goals in the Leopards' 19-11 win over Mass. Maritime in March 29, which puts her season next to Paradis in most goals scored in a game. The freshman midfielder collected a whopping 98 draw controls this season, which ranks her first overall among CCC opponents, and first in the single-season record for Wentworth.
McCormick was a crucial piece of the Leopard defense, and started in all 16 games for Wentworth. McCormick caused 21 turnovers and picked up 37 ground balls, leading the team to its most caused-turnovers in program history with 149 overall. She has caused an averaged 1.38 turnovers per game in her career, which ranks her third on the all-time list at Wentworth. The senior defender scooped up at least one ground ball in all but one contest played for the Leopards, and additionally scored three goals with one assist for four points. She scored all three of her goals in a 21-4 win over Becker on March 31, her first time finding the back of the net for Wentworth in her career.
