Women's Soccer Shut Out By Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team tied a season high with four goals in a 4-0 shutout of Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks remain in a tie for first in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with a perfect 3-0-0 record (5-3-1 overall), while Wentworth drops to 1-2-0 in the CCC and 2-7-1.

Mariah Kaiser (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Hannah Noel (Adams, Mass.) each scored twice in the game for the Hawks, The two now stand at three goals apiece on the season.

Kaiser scored the first goal of the game for RWU, making a sharp move around the Leopard keeper in the 20th minute to put RWU on top 1-0. Noel would follow at the 35:03 mark, putting in a loose ball on a deflected pass into the back of net for a two-goal lead for the Hawks.

In the 66th minute, Kaiser notched her second goal of the day, taking in a pass from Abby Foster (South Hadley, Mass.) and touching the twine to put RWU on top 3-0. Noel tacked on the last score of the day at 72:50, shooting in a ball off of a pass from Kristen Tetreault (Tolland, Conn.)

Stephanie Jaques (Burlington, Vt.) made four saves in the game for her fifth win of the season. Jess Gardner (Wilbraham, Mass.) allowed three goals with eight saves in the loss. Miranda Stuckey (Lafayette, Ind.) saw 20:21 of action for the Leopards, making two saves and giving up one score.

Roger Williams hosts in-state rival Salve Regina on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., while Wentworth plays Western New England on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
