Army, Sleasman Set Program Records at Tufts National Qualifying Meet

MEDFORD, Mass. – In his final indoor track meet, Wentworth Institute of Technology senior Christian Army (Pembroke, Mass.) broke his own record in the 60M hurdles as the Leopards competed at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet. In addition to Army setting a record, junior Eli Sleasman (Albany, N.Y.) also competed, breaking his own record in the pole vault.

Army ran a qualifying time of 8.76 seconds which got him into the finals, where his time of 8.69 seconds placed him seventh and set the program record, breaking the previous mark of 8.74 seconds, which he set last weekend.

Sleasman placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 4.90M, breaking his previous mark of 4.79M, which he also set last weekend. Sleasman's mark puts him 23rd on the NCAA Division III qualifying list.

Senior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) and Sleasman are each in contention for qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships. Qualifiers will be announced on Sunday night.
