WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman Thomas Smith (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) of the top-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team shined as the Leopards' setter in a 3-0 sweep over Emerson, earning him recognition by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Monday afternoon. Smith earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors for matches played February 26-March 3.

Smith earns his first conference honor this season after dishing out 30 assists in Wentworth's shutout of the Lions, resulting in ten assists per set. The rookie also added to his stat line with five digs and a kill.

The top-ranked Black & Gold hold a 16-0 record and face No. 15-ranked Marymount (Va.) and No. 6-ranked Cal Lutheran on March 8.
