BEVERLY, Mass. –After a strong performance at the Keene State Invitational last Saturday, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team had their top finisher earn recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore Ryan Ballard (Norwalk, Conn.) was named Runner of the Week, with the award being for meets ran September 15-October 1.

The sophomore finished the 8K race in eighth place out of a field of over 250 runners, guiding the Black & Gold to an overall finish of seventh out of the 21 teams participating. Ballard, who led the Leopards for the third time in as many races this fall, crossed the line with a personal-best time of 25:58.9, just less than 10 seconds out a top five finish.

The Leopards compete next at the Suffolk Invitational on October 14.
