Men's Cross Country Places 17th at NCAA Regionals

HOPKINTON, N.H. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team wrapped up its 2023 campaign at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship Meet, run at the Hopkinton Fair Grounds.

Wentworth placed 17th in a field of 34 teams, earning 491 points in the process. MIT (35), Tufts (57), and Bates (97) were the top three finishers.

Sophomore Ryan Ballard (Norwalk, Conn.) once again paced the Black & Gold, finishing 55th (55 points) with a time of 26:30.93. Ballard ended the season having been the Leopards top runner in each meet.

Freshman Jon Savage (Hampton, N.H.) posted a 100th-place finish (100 points) with a time of 27:30.40. Right behind him was senior William Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.) who had a time of 27:35.52 (101st place, 101 points) in his final collegiate race.

Sophomore Evin McIntire (Mansfield, Mass.) was 115th (115 points) after crossing the line in a time of 28:15.38. Rounding out Wentworth's top five runners was freshman Jack Newton (Gloucester, Mass.), who crossed the line with a time of 28:18.47 to finish 120th (120 points).
