BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper Jack McGovern (Ancaster, Ont.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. McGovern earns the award for games played from February 13-19.

In a 2-0 weekend for the Black & Gold, McGovern backstopped the team to the earn a berth in the CCC Tournament, earning key victories over Western New England and Suffolk. The rookie held a .968 save percentage and a 0.97 goals against average across the two games, making 29 saves in an overtime thriller over WNE before stopping 31 in a 2-1 win over Suffolk the following day.

McGovern finishes the regular season with a 5-10-0 record, a 3.23 goals against average, and a .894 save percentage in his first collegiate campaign.

Wentworth travels to #9 UNE Wednesday afternoon for a first-round matchup of the CCC Tournament.
