Men's Tennis Rolls Past Curry

MILTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team swept doubles play and never looked back as the Leopards (4-2) cruised to an 8-1 win over Curry (0-6) on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Taymour Mansi (Alexandria, Egypt) and freshman Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) kicked things off with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Junior Sam Ferro (Whitman, Mass.) and senior Harrison Maki (Rutland, Mass.) gave the Leopards a 2-0 lead with an 8-4 win at No. 3 while seniors Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) and Tristan Maus (Mansfield, Mass.) were 8-2 winners at No. 2.

Maus picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles to put Wentworth on the verge of clinching before Ferro's 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 5 clinched the win for the Black & Gold. Hall was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2, Maki won, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 4, and Gallegos was a 7-5, 6-4 winner at No. 1. Senior Matt Roberts (Westfield, Mass.) fell at No. 6, 5-7, 6-7 (5-7).

Wentworth is at Curry on Saturday.
