Hall, Gallegos, Salomon Earn All-CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – After an historic season for the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team, three Leopard student-athletes have been honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference as they were named to the 2021 Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Tennis All-Conference teams when the league announced its major award winners and all-conference teams on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) and freshman Daniel Gallegos (Monterey, Mexico) were both named Second Team All-CCC in singles play and junior Kevin Salomon (West Newton, Mass.) was named third team all-conference in singles play. Gallegos and Salomon picked up All-CCC honors in doubles play when they were named to the second team.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the eight CCC head men's tennis coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Hall posted a 6-4 record while playing in the No. 2 slot, which included a 3-2 mark in conference-only matches. Five of his six victories were by straight sets and his sixth triumph was a three-set win over Endicott which clinched the match for the Black & Gold. Playing both No. 1 and No. 2 throughout his career, Hall won 18 matches, which ties him for eighth all-time on Wentworth's victory list. Additionally, he finished his career with 18 double victories, tying him for 11th in program history.

Gallegos anchored down the No. 1 slot all season, with four of his 11 matches going three sets. He recorded the biggest win of his career when his straight-set win over Gordon in the CCC Semifinals propelled the Leopards to their first-ever CCC finals appearance.

Playing at No. 3, Salomon recorded a 7-1 record, which included a 4-1 mark in conference-only matches. All of his victories were in straight sets and he picked up a crucial point in the Leopards' semifinal win over Gordon. In two seasons for the Black & Gold, he has an 8-4 record, having seen time at both No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

Gallegos and Salomon played atop the Leopards' doubles lineup all season long, and their 8-5 win over Gordon in the CCC Semifinals put the Leopards on the board, The duo proved to be a difficult matchup in each of their matches, with five of their losses coming by an 8-5 score and another loss coming in a tiebreaker.

Wentworth finished the season with a 7-4 record, which included finishing first in its pod and earning its first postseason victory since 2006.
