INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After falling behind early, the Leopards ran off six straight points, capped off by a jumper from junior guard Francesca Farrell (Stoneham, Mass.) to take a 6-2 lead. MCLA's Emily Burke then made back-to-back three pointers to put the Trailblazers ahead by two, but Foster picked up a layup to tie the score at 10 to end the first quarter.
  • Foster kept up the offense to start the second quarter, scoring six straight points to give the Leopards a 16-10 lead. Two free throws and another layup from the freshman extended the lead to seven, and she put in two more baskets in the final minutes as Wentworth took a 28-17 lead into halftime.
  • A free throw from Foster and a three pointer from junior guard Abriana Busbey (Palmer, Alaska), who had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds on the night, opened the lead up to 15 points early in the third. Two straight shots from beyond the arc were part of nine consecutive points for MCLA, as they looked to get back into it and pulled within six points at 32-26. A pair of baskets from Foster and freshman forward Gabby Amoddio (Wethersfield, Conn.), who ended the night with six points and a team-best seven assists pushed the lead back to nine, and the Leopards eventually took a 43-35 advantage into the fourth quarter.
  • Two field goals from Foster and another three from Busbey pushed the lead to double digits as the Leopards opened up a 15 point lead. The Trailblazers were able to cut the lead down to 10 at one point, but it was not enough as Wentworth held on to their double-digit lead and picked up a 60-48 victory.
