INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gordon got out to a 10-0 lead in the opening minutes, with the Fighting Scots' Madison Wynbeek, who led all scorers with 17 points, contributing two baskets during the stretch. Senior guard Kayla Kelley (Boston, Mass.) hit a three pointer to get the Leopards on the board, and freshman forward Gabby Amoddio (Wethersfield, Conn.) followed up with a layup to get Wentworth within five. Seven straight points for the home team helped them build a double digit lead, as Gordon held a 17-7 lead at the end of the first.
  • The second quarter was controlled by the Fighting Scots. Wynbeek scored six of her 17 during the quarter, and the Leopards were outscored by 16 as they trailed 34-8 going into the half.
  • Sophomore guard Nattaly David (Hyde Park, Mass.) got Wentworth started in the third quarter with a three pointer as part of her five third-quarter points, but Wentworth couldn't cut into the deficit and still trailed by 26 to end the third.
  • Three pointers by David and freshman guard Brooke Carlson (Contoocook, N.H.) provided the Leopards with the majority of their points in the fourth, as they were outscored 15-9 in the final period and fell by a final of 59-27.
