ECAC Honors Ritter, Mullen With Weekly Awards

DANBURY, Conn. – A day after the Great Northeast Athletic Conference honored a pair of Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball players, the ECAC has named sophomore Setter Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) its north region co-player of the week and freshman Sean Mullen (Longwood, Fla.) its north region rookie of the week.

In a 2-1 week for the Leopards, Ritter averaged 10.60 assists, 3.30 digs, and 0.60 blocks per set. He had three kills, 44 assists, 19 digs, and four blocks in a 3-1 loss to No. 13 MIT and also had 30 assists and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Regis. He began the week with 32 assists and a pair of blocks in Wentworth's 3-0 win over Albertus Magnus, which opened the Black & Gold's conference slate.

Ritter has played in all eight of Wentworth's matches to-date and is averaging 9.58 assists, 0.33 aces, 1.79 digs, and 0.54 blocks per set.

Mullen averaged 3.33 kills and 1.44 digs per set while helping the Leopard improve to 6-2 overall. Against No. 13 MIT he had 17 kills and 10 digs and had a nine kill, four-block performance (while hitting .333) in a 3-0 week.

Through his first eight collegiate matches, Mullen is averaging 3.12 kills, 1.33 digs, and 0.33 service aces per set while hitting .281.

Wentworth hosts Lasell in a GNAC match on Tuesday night.
