Reed Named GNAC Offensive Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second time this season, sophomore outside hitter Jake Reed (Arvada, Colo.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as its offensive player of the week. The award encompasses matches played from February 16-22.

In the Leopards' only match last week, a 3-2 loss to No. 9 NYU, Reed had 22 kills, two service aces, five digs, and three blocks while hitting .415. Reed seven of his match-high 22 kills in the third set where he hit .636 (7-0-11) and also collected both of his aces during that set.

Reed has played in 48 sets over 15 matches and is averaging 3.31 kills, 0.50 service aces, 1.25 digs, and 0.60 blocks per set while hitting .300 on the season.

Ranked 14th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll, Wentworth (12-3, 3-0 GNAC) is at Johnson & Wales tonight.
