BOSTON, Mass. – In a Commonwealth Coast Conference battle Saturday afternoon, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team (2-8-2, 0-5-1 CCC) ended a battle with the Nichols Bison (2-10-2, 0-5-1 CCC) in a 0-0 draw.

Holding Senior Day, the Leopards honored seniors Lauren Bradley (Lumberton, N.J.), Mckenzie Collins (Seymour, Conn.), Sherly Feliz (Salem, Mass.), Madelyn Seder (Marlborough, Mass.) and Adrianna Arona (Westfield, Mass.) prior to kickoff.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After an early Nichols try was stopped by senior Adrianna Arona (Westfield, Mass.), the Leopards had a slew of kicks to prove unsuccessful just over ten minutes into the contest.
  • The two teams traded tries, with Wentworth nicking two shots off a piece of the pipe, both by freshman Brianna Reid (Bridgewater, Mass.). Arona finished the half with two stops, while junior Adie Hughes (Hampden, Maine) made three saves for the Bison.
  • The two teams traded shots to begin the second half just before a long shot by senior Lauren Bradley (Lumberton, N.J.) hit the crossbar, keeping the hosts off the board at the 69:18 mark.
  • Nichols applied the pressure in the later going, firing four shots towards goal in the final 9:52 with two on goal being stopped by freshman Shyla Kulesza (Grafton, Mass.).
  • Hughes totaled five stops for the Bison, while Arona made two saves before Kulesza stopped three in relief.

SERIES NOTES:

  • The Leopards own the all-time record, 17-6-3, having topped the Bison ten-straight times entering today.
