Selman Named to All-CCC Second Team

BEVERLY, Mass. – Junior Maria Selman (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team was named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference second team. The announcement was made after the CCC released its 2023 all-conference honorees and major award winners on Tuesday morning.

Junior Tori Keyes (Hooksett, N.H.) of the University of New England was named CCC Offensive Player of the Year while her teammate, senior Emily Martin (Georgetown, Maine), earned CCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. Senior Malina LaCapra (Watertown, Conn.) of Western New England was named CCC Defensive Player of the Year and her coach, Kristin Hensinger, was named CCC Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Freshman Eowyn Lapp (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) of Gordon earned CCC Rookie of the Year honors. Nichols earned the team sportsmanship award.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the eight CCC head women's soccer coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Selman was a force in the midfield for the Leopards, consistently carrying the pace of play. The junior totaled two assists for two points in 11 appearances this season, also adding in two shots on goal.

For her career, Selman has one goal, three assists, and five points in 40 career games.

The Black & Gold went 2-11-2 this season after posting eight wins with a CCC Tournament appearance just a season ago.
