Women's Soccer Concludes Season at Curry

MILTON, Mass. – In their final contest of the season, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team (2-11-2, 0-7 CCC) dropped a 3-0 decision to conference foe Curry (4-6-7, 2-3-3 CCC) Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Following another Curry chance that was stopped by senior Adrianna Arona (Westfield, Mass.), the Colonels doubled their lead at the 19:37 mark on a tally by senior Shannon Folan (Hudson, Mass.), bringing the score to 2-0.
  • Folan potted Curry's third goal of the night at the 67:37 mark. Wentworth applied the pressure at the end of the game with two shots on goal and three corner kicks, but any threat was stopped by sophomore Lexi Smardon (Scotland, Conn.) in goal.
  • Smardon made three stops to preserve the win for the Colonels while Arona made two saves before freshman Claire Reif (Winter Springs, Fla.) made three saves in relief.
