Miller Earns ECAC Northeast Weekly Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – For the second time this season, Wentworth Institute of Technology freshman goalie Joel Miller (Calgary, Alta.) has been named the ECAC Northeast Goaltender of the Week. Miller was selected for his play during the week of February 11-17.

Miller earned this honor after posting a 0.98 goals against average and a .962 save percentage in a 2-0-1 week for the Leopards. Playing in all three of Wentworth's games, he earned his first collegiate shutout with a 16-save performance in a 3-0 win over Suffolk, stopped 30 shots in a 1-1 tie at Curry, and made 31 saves in a 5-3 win over Salve Regina, which clinched the regular-season championship for Wentworth.

Having started 15 of the 16 games in which he has played, Miller has a 11-2-2 record with a 1.94 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. He ranks 10th nationally among Division III goalies in winning percentage and goals against average and 14th in save percentage.

Wentworth sits at 14-8-3 and earned its second straight ECAC Northeast regular-season championship. The Leopards have earned a bye in the first round of the conference tournament and will host a semifinal round game on Wednesday, February 27.
