BOSTON, Mass. – Senior defenseman Shaun Jameson (Long Beach, Calif.) picked up another piece of hardware after his stellar final season as he was named a 2013 CCM Division II/III Men's Hockey All-America Thursday night.
A first team selection in the East Region, Jameson had been named a finalist for the prestigious Sid Watson Award earlier in the week as well; an award given to the top Division III player in the country.
The 2013 ECAC Northeast Player of the Year and a four-time All-ECAC Northeast selection, Jameson helped lead the Leopards to their second consecutive league championship and second straight berth in the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament.
Jameson played in all 28 games for the Leopards and led the team with 22 points and 27 assists. Two of his five goals came on the power play and he ranks fifth in the country in scoring among defensemen as he averaged 0.96 points per game.
This season he recorded the game-winning goal in overtime in a 4-3 win at Salve Regina on January 29 and had three assists in his final, regular-season home game, a 5-2 win over Salve Regina on February 16. Additionally, he was named to the all-tournament team for the ECAC Northeast Tournament.
Wentworth, which finished 16-9-1, lost to Babson, 6-1, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. It marked the sixth time since 2000 the Black & Gold have played in the national tournament.
A mainstay on defense throughout his four years, he leaves the program as its all-time leading scorer among Leopard defensemen with 95 career points (24 goals, 71 assists) in 105 career games. His 95 points also ranks him 13th on Wentworth's all-time scoring list.
Jameson joins Raj Bhangoo as the program's only two All-Americans. Bhangoo was named to the east region's first team as a goalie during his senior season of 2004.
