Women's Soccer Remains Ranked in NCAA Regional Rankings

BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 2-0 week with victories over Eastern Nazarene and Endicott, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team finds itself listed in the second set of NCAA regional rankings, which were released on Wednesday afternoon. The Leopards remain at No. 11 for the second straight week.

The Leopards presently sit at 12-3-3 and earned a share of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Regular Season crown at 7-0-2. Wentworth will be the number two seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament. The Black & Gold have outscored opponents by a 49-13 margin and have 10 shutouts to date.

In the three published regional rankings, 12 teams from the New England region are ranked and the regional advisory committee bases its ranking off of not only winning percentage, but a weighted formula containing opponent winning percentage and opponent's opponent winning percentage to calculate an in-division strength of schedule number. Through games of Oct. 24, Wentworth's SOS was .554. Four of the Leopards' opponents this season are among this week's ranked teams as Brandeis is second, Amherst is third, WPI is eighth, and Endicott is 12th.

Wentworth hosts Western New England in a CCC quarterfinal on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
