Sanders Earns CCC Co-Player of the Week Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – Following one of the more historic regular seasons in recent memory, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team continued to earn recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference this week as freshman Emma Sanders (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) earned Co-Player of the Week honors. The award is for matches played October 30-November 5.

The rookie dominated in both wins for the Leopards this week, smashing 12 kills at a .500 rate in a sweep over Gordon before recording 20 kills and a .459 hitting percentage in a four-set win against Suffolk. Sanders also totaled 14 digs in each of the two matches, giving her a double-double in both outings.

Sanders completed the regular season with a current league-high of 3.91 kills per set, recording 254 finishes over 65 sets of play to add on to her current totals of 181 digs and 37 total blocks.

The Black & Gold finished the regular season 21-5 and await an opponent to be determined to play against in the CCC Semifinals on Thursday, November 9.
