BEVERLY, Mass. – After an all-tournament performance at the USJ Holiday Tournament, junior Jack Connell (Walpole, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team earned recognition by the Commonwealth Coast Conference league office Tuesday afternoon. Connell was named Player of the Week for games played December 11-31.
On December 14 against New England College, Connell dropped a game-high 27 points and added six rebounds. After dropping seven points in a narrow overtime loss to UMass Dartmouth on December 29, Connell exploded offensively on the court the following day against the University of St. Joseph's (Conn.), dropping a career-high 37 points on 13-for-22 shooting (5-for-9 from three) in another tight overtime loss. The junior guard chipped in ten rebounds, six assists, and three steals across the two contests as well. His efforts across the two days earned himself all-tournament honors.
The Leopards are 5-5 this season and hop back into CCC action tonight at Western New England.
