BEVERLY, Mass. – Freshman Sean Racette (Trumbull, Conn.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team earned recognition by the Commonwealth Coast Conference Monday afternoon for his torrid performance over the last week. Racette's Rookie of the Week award is for games played January 22-28.
The rookie began the week with a near-perfect game in a 72-58 win over Curry, dropping 11 points on an unblemished 5-for-5 shooting from the floor. Four days later in a win at Hartford, Racette drained another 10 points. The freshman guard also totaled nine rebounds, five assists (all versus Curry), and four steals (all versus Curry) across the two games.
Wentworth is 9-10 this season, 4-6 in CCC play, heading into a matchup with UNE on Wednesday while riding a two-game win streak.
