Women's Soccer Drops Home Finale

BOSTON, Mass. – Four different players tallied goals, including senior midfielder Noelle Marston (Kingston, Mass.) who also added an assist as the Roger Williams women's soccer team won its third straight game with a 4-1 win over Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played on Sweeney Field.

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead at 27:45 when sophomore forward Hannah Noel (Adams, Mass.) served a cross into the box where Marston fired a shot to the upper corner. Less than five minutes later, however, the Leopards evened the score when freshman Olivia Moore (Salem, Conn.) notched her team-leading seventh marker of the season, completing a long run which was set up by classmate Beverly Farris (Palmer, Mass.).

Roger Williams took a 2-1 lead at 36:09 after Marston set up freshman midfielder Kristen Tetreault (Tolland, Conn.), who delivered a one-timer inside the right post. The Hawks held an 11-5 shot advantage through te first 45:00.

Senior forward Laurin Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) gave the Hawks a 3-1 lead when she capitalized on a defensive misplay at scored her first of the season at 53:29. With 5:14 remaining in the contest junior midfielder Maddy Howard (Medfield, Mass.) fed freshman defender Julie Lowenstein (Malta, N.Y.) for her collegiate goal.

Sophomore Stephanie Jaques (Birlington, Vt.) made four saves in the win, while Wentworth junior Jess Gardner (Wilbraham, Mass.) turned aside six shots. Roger Williams held a 23-10 shot advantage for the game.

With the win the Hawks improve to 8-6-1 overall and 6-1 in CCC play. Roger Williams travels to Salve Regina on Tuesday. Wentworth falls to 3-13-0 (0-7) and is at Endicott Wednesday.
