BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomroe Jennifer Solgaard (Palo Alto, Calif.) scored the game's only goal with 23 seconds remaining as the Caltech women's soccer team clipped Wentworth Institute of Technology, 1-0, in non-conference action Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Caltech carried play in the first half, outshooting Wentworth by a 6-1 margin, with three of those shots coming on net. Wentworth's lone shot of the half came when junior Mckenzie Collins (Seymour, Conn.) served a corner kick towards the box. Freshman Jordan Dahan (Kennesaw, Ga.) put a shot on net, however, senior Eve Fine (Locust Valley, N.Y.) came up with the save.
- In the 52nd minute, Wentworth nearly went ahead 1-0. Graduate student Diana Bruggeman (Natick, Mass.) took a shot that hit the crossbar. Sophomore Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.) grabbed the rebound but her second-chance attempt went over the net.
- Montville put a shot on net in the 68th minute and Bruggeman had a shot on goal in the 87th minute. Wentworth had a 4-2 shot advantage in the second half.
- The Beavers got the goa-ahead goal when they gained possession off a turnover. Solgaard was sent a pass and went through a pair of Leopard defenders. She took an off balance shot from the top of the box which ricocheted off the far post and into the back of the net.
- Arona made four saves in the game.

- Tonight was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
