HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First half play began with shuffled passing in the middle of the field, working in the Rams favor enough so for junior Klaudia Rooshi (Beverly, Mass.) to score on a ball in the second minute that was already airborne and soared over Wentworth sophomore goalkeeper Julianna Heaton (Swansea, Mass.).
  • A shot by freshman Jordan Dahan (Kennesaw, Ga.) in the ninth minute of play flung towards the net with velocity and was caught in the feet of Rams freshman goalkeeper Sophia Barker (Old Saybrook, Conn.), keeping the score 1-0.
  • Rushi had eyes for the Leopards net in the 30th minute of play but Heaton came up with a strong save. Less than two minutes later, Leopards junior Lauren Bradley (Lumberton, N.J.) nicked a powerful shot off of the crossbar.
  • In the 42nd minute, Rams junior Ashley Cassino-Henriquez (East Providence, R.I.) found the ball with a clear shooting lane in a crowded group of players. Her shot got by Heaton and gave the Rams a 2-0 advantage.
  • The second half begun with two shots from the Leopards in a span of 2:42, the first coming from sophomore Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.) and the second coming from freshman Lina Arlander (Skjetten, Norway).
  • Wentworth swapped Heaton out for junior Adrianna Arona (Westfield, Mass.) in the 60th minute. Arona finished the game with two saves for the Leopards.
  • A shot from freshman Emily Hagen (Ellicott City, Md.) in the 86th minute was stopped by a Rams' back after a crowded box in front of Barker caught Hagen with a late chance.

THE SERIES:

  • Today was just the second time these two teams have met. Suffolk has won both meetings.
