Montville's Four Point Night Paces Women's Soccer to Second Straight Win

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomore Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.) scored a goal and dished out two assists while junior Adriana Arona (Westfield, Mass.) turned aside three shots as the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team won its second straight game, defeating UMass Dartmouth, 4-0, in non-conference action Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Wentworth wasted little time jumping on the board when junior Lauren Bradley (Lumberton, N.J.) scored an unassisted goal at 3:22. That goal would hold up as the lone goal of the first half as Wentworth had a 4-0 shot advantage.
  • UMass Dartmouth had four shot attempts early in the second half, with just one going on target. Graduate student Diana Bruggeman (Natick, Mass.) took a pair of shots in the 56th and 59th minutes, however, neither found the back of the net. Bruggeman broke through with her third of the second when she scored off a feed from Montville.
  • In the 79th minute, Montville put the Black & Gold ahead 3-0 when she tallied an unassisted marker, while she would set up freshman Meghan Barilone at the 83:35 mark.
  • Arona kept the clean sheet intact when she made a save in the 86th minute.
  • Wentworth had an 11-9 shot advantage and a 10-1 edge in corner kicks.

THE SERIES:

  • Tonight was the 10th all-time meeting between the two teams. Wentworth leads, 7-3, and has won the last three series meetings.
