BOSTON, Mass. – Senior co-captain Ellen Choinski (Saunderstown, R.I.) led the way with 23 assists and 19 digs as the University of New England swept Wentworth Institute of Technology, 3-0, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference volleyball match Tuesday evening at Tansey Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-23, 25-14, 25-8.
Freshman Lindsey Cashell (Merrimack, N.H.) led UNE up front with eight kills. Senior Claire Varner (Breckenridge, Mich.) supported with seven and junior Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) added five. Freshman Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) served up three aces and was perfect on all 25 of her attempts from the service line.
Wentworth got 12 kills and 10 digs from sophomore Julie Bruton (Montgomery, Texas) to go along with eight kills and 15 digs from freshman Julie Rahilly (Nashua, N.H.). Senior Courtney Zink (East Falmouth, Mass.) had 26 assists in the loss.
