Wentworth Snaps Losing Streak With Win at Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. – Thirty-one days after winning its last match, the Wentworth women's volleyball team cracked the win column for the first time in 10 attempts.  The Leopards kept their The Commonwealth Coast Conference playoff hopes alive by defeating Eastern Nazarene, 3-1.

Wentworth jumped out to a fast, 2-0 lead by winning the first two sets, 25-16 and 25-15 while combining to hit .218 over that span.  The host Crusaders came back in the third set to claim a 25-15 win, before a back and forth affair in the fourth set resulted in Wentworth pulling away late, 25-20.

The Leopards got 18 points and 18 digs from sophomore Julie Bruton (Montgomery, Texas), who also hit .326.  Freshman Nicole Wetherbee (Pembroke, Mass.) and sophomore Jackie Moniz (Taunton, Mass.) had 18 and 15 digs, respectively, while senior Courtney Zink (East Falmouth, Mass.) had 27 assists and 15 digs.
