Wentworth Concludes Play at Blue Jay Invitational

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Wentworth's women's volleyball team concluded play at the 2010 Blue Jay Invitational by dropping a pair of matches – both by 3-0 scores.  The Leopards were defeated by Gallaudet and Wesley to see their overall record stand at 3-13.

 

Gallaudet took the first two sets by 25-11 and 25-10 scores, respectively, before Wentworth battled back in the third set, but ultimately fell, 25-17.  Sophomore Julie Bruton (Montgomery, Texas) had six kills and eight digs, while junior Sam Vinciguerra (Somersworth, N.H.) had three kills.  Freshmen Julie Rahilly (Nashua, N.H.) and Nicole Wetherbee (Pembroke, Mass.) had six and five digs, respectively.

 

The Leopards closed out tournament play by falling to Neumann in straight sets, 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.  Bruton had 11 kills and hit .500 in the match, to go along with eight digs.  Senior Courtney Zink (East Falmouth, Mass.) had 18 assists, while Rahilly had a team-best nine digs.
