Wentworth Drops Two Matches at Blue Jay Invitational

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Wentworth women's volleyball team got off to a slow start against nationally ranked Elizabethtown in the first match of the Blue Jay Classic, falling 3-0, and the Leopards would finish the night with a 3-0 loss to Neumann.

 

The Leopards were downed by the Blue Jays, 25-11, in the first set, before falling by 25-12 and 25-14 scores in the next two sets.  For the match, Wentworth only mustered seven kills, with two apiece coming from sophomore Julie Bruton (Montgomery, Texas) and freshman Julie Rahilly (Nashua, N.H.).

 

Bruton recorded eight kills and had a hitting percentage of .333 in the nightcap, as the Leopards were defeated by the Knights, 25-19, 25-9, 25-11.  Rahilly had eight digs, while senior Courtney Zink (East Falmouth, Mass.) had 12 assists and three kills.
