Men's Tennis Falls to Conference-Leading Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's tennis team remained undefeated (5-0) in Commonwealth Coast Conference play as the Bison defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 9-0, on Saturday morning.

With the win Nichols improves to 11-5 overall while the Leopards fall to 4-7 (3-2).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Graduate student Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) teamed with freshman Enzo Matos Balleux (Weimar, N.J.) for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles over graduate student Harrison Maki (Rutland, Mass.) and senior Sam Ferro (Whitman, Mass.). The Bison upped their lead to 2-0 with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles as freshman Adrian Toderascu (Chisinau, Moldova) and sophomore Steven Kuang (Guangzhou, China) defeated senior Kevin Salomon (West Newton, Mass.) and freshman Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.). At No. 2, freshman Moritz Kern (Herzogenrath, Germany) and sophomore Caio Dickermann (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) were 8-3 winners over sophomore Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) and junior Malo Legouin (Nanterre, France).
  • Freshman Oscar Junyent (Madrid, Spain) defeated junior Own Conlon (Cataumet, Mass.), 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 to make it 4-0 before Kluger's 6-1, 6-1 win over Ferro at No. 5 clinched the win for the Bison.
  • Toderascu defeated Marwaha at No. 2, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2, freshman Santiago Perez (Alicante, Spain) defeated Legouin, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4, freshman Jose Siles (Lima, Peru) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Maki at No. 3, and sophomore Trevor Schwarzmann (Dartmouth, Mass.) defeated Gallegos, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1
