LaBouliere Named AVCA Division III Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a torrid stretch through sweeps of GNAC-rival Emmanuel as well as the Statesmen Volleyball Classic, featuring No. 16-ranked Misericordia and No. 18-ranked Baldwin Walace, senior Jacob LaBouliere (Pipersville, Pa.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team added to his weekly awards as the outside hitter earned Division III Player of the Week honors by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) as the association announced Tuesday afternoon. The award is for matches played February 5-11.

Adding to Wentworth's historic opening to the 2024 season, LaBouliere guided the offense at the Statesmen Volleyball Classic, averaging 15 kills per match across a 3-0 weekend. The outside hitter averaged a .511 clip across the weekend and also chipped in with 11 digs and five blocks. Against Emmanuel four days prior, the senior led with 16 finishes and added two digs and one block.

This is the fourth time in his career, and first since March of last season, LaBouliere has been named AVCA Player of the Week. The senior also sits eight finishes away from the 1,000 career kills milestone heading into a highly anticipated matchup with Lasell.

The No. 1-ranked Leopards are 11-0 this season, their hottest start in program history, and host the Lasers in a rematch of last year's GNAC final on Thursday night.
