BOSTON, Mass. – Guided by a combined 23 kills from the duo of senior Jacob LaBouliere (Pipersville, Pa.) and sophomore Benjamin Moughon (Mercer Island, Wash.), the top-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team (22-0, 8-0 GNAC) kept their record-breaking season record unblemished versus the crosstown Emmanuel Saints (12-7, 5-3 GNAC), sweeping their conference foe in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The two teams traded scores in the early going of the opening frame, working the score to 8-8, before kills by sophomore Nicolai Bell (Moraga, Calif.) and junior Josh Milke (Eastampton, N.J.) separated Wentworth at 12-8. The Leopards continued their two-point lead to 17-15 before two kills by Moughon and two service aces by senior Jacob Waga (East Northport, N.Y.) extended the advantage to 21-15. Kills by Bell and LaBouliere helped Wentworth clinch a 25-20 set win.
  • The two teams again traded points in the second set, with a kill by Brandon Dunz (Lake View, N.Y.) helping Wentworth take a 7-5 lead before kills by LaBouliere and Moughon continued the advantage to 13-9. Kills by the duo again pushed the lead to 17-10 before four kills by LaBouliere and others by Waga and Bell gave Wentworth a 25-15 set win.
  • The two teams swapped scores to kick off the third set, with Emmanuel taking a 12-11 edge before Wentworth grabbed a 15-13 lead on a LaBouliere kill. A kill by Moughon continued the advantage to 18-15 before a kill by LaBouliere later pushed the lead to 23-19. Errors gave the Leopards a 25-21 set win and 3-0 match win.
