Men's Volleyball Sits Atop NCAA Regional Rankings for Region I

BOSTON, Mass. – Heading down the home stretch of the regular season, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team sits atop the first full set of NCAA Division III Regional Rankings for Region I.

These rankings, which are released four times ahead of the NCAA Tournament, are the rankings the NCAA uses to select at-large teams as well as seeding teams for the tournament. Seven teams are ranked from each of the four evaluation regions across Division III.

The Leopards were listed among the seven teams ranked in Region I in last week's first set of rankings, however, the first week of rankings have teams listed in alphabetical order since one of the criteria used in rankings is record against ranked opponents.

Wentworth (25-1) is an impressive 16-1 against regionally ranked teams, going 7-1 in games against ranked Region I institutions, 4-0 against ranked teams in Region II, 3-0 against ranked opponents in Region III, and 2-0 against ranked teams in Region 4.

The next set of regional rankings will be released on Wednesday, April 10, while the final set will be released after the NCAA Tournament field is selected on Monday, April 15.

Wentworth is at Endicott tonight.
