HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The first shot of the game resulted in an Endicott goal as sophomore Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) gained control of a loose ball outside the box and fed a pass to freshman Codan Foley (Carver, Mass.). Foley connected on a shot from the right side that found the lower corner of the net.
  • Mepham gave the Gulls a 2-0 lead when he took a pass from freshman Cole Fergusson (South Salem, N.Y.) and beat senior keeper Robbie West (Weymouth, Mass.).
  • In the 39th minute, senior Nathan Gosselin (Hudson, N.H.) nearly put the hosts on the board but his bid was denied when junior Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) made a save on his close-range shot.
  • Gosselin put the Leopards on the board at the 47:52 mark. A trip inside the box gave Wentworth a penalty kick, where he stepped up and connected for his team-leading fifth marker of the season.
  • The Leopards tied the game with just under 20 minutes remaining in the contest as senior John Dauphin (Yorba Linda, Calif.) served a corner kick to the far side. Senior Erik Treble (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) sent a low pass in front where senior Jomar Martins (Braintree, Mass.) tapped it inside the left post.
  • Just less than two minutes later, Endicott nearly took the lead, however, a shot was cleared out by a back line defender just before it crossed the line. The Gulls went ahead with 4:10 left when freshman Ryan Archer (Newburyport, Mass.), who had just subbed in, had a throw-in to the lower right side of the box where Brodeur headed it in.

  • Today marked the 27th all-time meeting between the two teams. Endicott leads, 16-9-2.
