HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Wentworth picked up the first goal of the game as Dauphin served a corner towards the box where Treble flicked a header inside the left post at the 10:51 mark.
  • Midway through the first half, the Leopards had a series of three corner kicks. On one of those – which were all served by Dauphin – senior Eddie Smith (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) headed a shot just over the crossbar.
  • The Black & Gold finished the first half with a 13-4 shot advantage and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
  • Suffolk had three shots early in the second half in the span of just over two minutes and nearly tied the game in the 52nd minute when a shot hit the crossbar and bounced down and out.
  • At the 53:50 mark, the Rams tied the game when freshman Edward Abouzeid (Norton, Mass.) sent a pass towards the net. Sophomore Brady Sorenson (Plymouth, Mass.) tucked a shot just inside the right post and past the Leopard defense.
  • Treble put the Leopards ahead for good just 1:50 later when he headed home a Dauphin corner kick. For Dauphin it was his season-high 10th assist of the season and the 22nd of his career, moving him into a tie for third all-time.
  • Suffolk had a pair of shot attempts in the final 10 minutes, both of which went on net. However, sophomore Noah Lawless (Whitefish Bay, Wisc.) came up with two saves to keep Wentworth ahead.
  • Lawless earned his first collegiate win, making four saves.

THE SERIES:

  • Tonight marked the 12th all-time meeting between the two teams. Wentworth picked up its third straight series win and leads the series, 6-4-2.
