  • Senior defender John Dauphin (Yorba Linda, Calif.) had two shots on goal in the early stages, but Salve Regina goalkeeper Nathan Reid made two saves to keep Wentworth off the board.
  • The Leopards picked up the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute, when following a free kick opportunity, Dukeshire picked up his first goal with a deflection in front of the net after the free kick attempt by Dauphin, who was credited with the assist.
  • The Wentworth lead would only last a few minutes, as Seahawks forward Alessandro Oggiano received a pass in front of the net and put it in to tie the score at one apiece.
  • Salve Regina threatened to take the lead following the goal, but were unable to convert on a pair of opportunities.
  • The Leopards then had another free kick opportunity, this time being taken by senior defender Alex Moore (Salem, Conn.). Graduate forward Juan Cedeno (North Andover, Mass.) had a header off the free kick which bounced toward Dukeshire, who kicked it out of midair and into the net to give Wentworth a 2-1 lead that they took into the intermission.
  • Dukeshire was looking for a hat trick goal early in the second half, but his header shot went high and missed the mark. The Seahawks came back with a few scoring chances of their own, but West kept the visitors from tying it up.
  • Salve Regina kept up the pressure as they looked for the tying goal. The Seahawks had two corner kick opportunities and two shots, but again could not find the back of the net.
  • West made one more late save, as the Leopards were able to hold off the Salve Regina push to tie in the final minutes, giving Wentworth a 2-1 victory.
