Andrade, Bell Earn Weekly GNAC Awards

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team had a new slate of honorees across the Great Northeast Athletic Conference this past week as freshman Mason Andrade (North Kingstown, R.I.) was named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week and classmate Nicolai Bell (Moraga, Calif.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week. The awards are for games played from February 13-19.

Andrade averaged 3.14 digs per set in an undefeated week for Wentworth, helping the team defeat Emerson in GNAC play on February 14 and Endicott four days later. The rookie had 12 digs against the Lions before notching 10 against the Gulls.

Bell hit .611 with just one error in two wins for the Leopards. He struck six kills in each of the wins over Emerson and Endicott and chipped in with three block assists across the two contests.

The Leopards are 7-6 this season and host Rivier on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
