Men's Tennis Wraps up Fall Schedule

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team (1-2) concluded its fall slate of matches with a 9-0 loss at Colby-Sawyer (1-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Colby-Sawyer took No. 3 doubles by an 8-0 score before junior Daniel Gallegos (Monterey, Mexico) teamed with freshman Eric Doraci (Natick, Mass.) at No. 1, however, were defeated, 8-3. The Leopards nearly took a point at No. 2 as freshman Rene Rodriguez (Doral, Fla.) and sophomore Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.) were defeated in a tiebreaker, 8-7.
  • The Chargers won three of the six singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. At No. 1, Gallegos was defeated, 6-3, 6-4, and Marwaha was defeated at No. 2, 6-4, 7-6.
  • Rodriguez took the first set at No. 3, however was defeated, 3-6, in the second set. In the super tie-breaker, the hosts prevailed, 12-10.

  • Wentworth will resume its schedule in March with a full slate of matches.
